PARTY CERTIFICATION OF PRIMARY CANDIDATES
If more than one person qualifies, the party chairman or alternate party official will promptly certify their names to the State Board and the electoral board for the City of Roanoke as having qualified under the provisions of Virginia Code §24.2-536. Whereas no form exists for that provision, the Roanoke City Democratic Committee intends to utilize form ELECT-527 Party Certification of Primary Candidates to provide for consistency in certification.
In no case shall the individual who is a candidate for an office be the person who certifies the names of candidates for a primary for that same office. In such case, Julie Wagner, Vice Chair of the Roanoke City Democratic Committee, has been designated as the alternate party official to certify the candidates.
